The Grande Prairie Athletics play their final regular season non-divisional matchup tonight at the Coca Cola Centre when they host the Grimshaw Huskies.
Grande Prairie comes into tonights matchup following a 9 to 0 win over the Hythe Mustangs on Thursday night. The win put the Athletics just one point back of the league leading Fort St. John Flyers. Needless say a victory tonight could push Grande Prairie back into first place in the North Peace Hockey League and once more into the drivers seat for first overall as the team heads down the final two weeks of regular season play.
Grimshaw on the other hand enters tonights contest on a three game losing streak. The Huskies have dropped games to Hythe (7-5), Falher (6-4) and most recently, the Manning Comets (9-1). If records are any indication it may not an easy night for the visiting team as the NPHL East has only managed one win over the West this year.
This will also mark Grimshaw’s first visit to the Coca Cola Centre in over two years. The last time the Huskies visited Grande Prairie was way back on November 19th, 2011. The A’s won that game 5 to 0.
Be sure to join us tonight at the Coca Cola Centre beginning at 8:30pm for tonights NPHL action between the Grimshaw Huskies and the Grande Prairie Athletics.
